RMSD Students visited the near mirror-image twin temples

Visit to Jodi Temple, Mosale Village by students of Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (RMSD).

Through touch, our students got a rare chance to explore and experience the architectural grandeur of the erstwhile Hoysala empire.

While one shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the other one is graced by Lord Vishnu. Rich carvings and intricately chiselled figurines are highlights of this architecture. While the Nagesvara temple had carvings of Parvati, Bhumadevi, Shiva, and Brahma among others, the Kesava temple had sculptures of Vishnu and Krishna carved in the form of Kesava Madhava, Venugopal and Garuda.

We thank our guide who helped us know about the temple's history. Our students attended the bhajan session that was held at Sri Chennakeshava temple. We also thank villagers who organized badam milk and biscuits for our children.

This sacred cave temple perched atop the Mavinakere Hill is constructed around the idol of Lord Ranganatha, placed on the nook of the cave. Our students had a trekking experience as they climbed the hillock by a flight of steps. The head priest Nagaraj Bhat explained the history of the temple. Students had a chance to enjoy Vanabhojana.

The students also visited Mavanuru Malleshwara Temple which is perched on top of a hill with beautiful views of the town, mountains, and windmills all around. Children enjoyed the beautiful weather and experienced the mechanical swooshing sound of gusty winds.
