At Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (RMSD), technology is not just a tool—it is a bridge to independence, confidence, and opportunity.
As part of the 2026–27 SSLC Student Smartphone Distribution Programme, 12 visually impaired SSLC students were presented with Samsung Galaxy M06 5G smartphones (6GB RAM, 128GB Storage), empowering them with digital access to support their education and everyday lives.
The programme was graced by Sri. Bhemappa K. Lalli, Deputy Secretary, Zilla Panchayat, Mysuru, as the Chief Guest and presided over by Mrs. Savitha V. Ranga.
A special demonstration on smartphone accessibility for visually impaired users was conducted by Sri. Siddaraju, Superintendent, Joint Director's Office, Department of Health, Mysuru, highlighting how assistive technologies can transform learning and daily living.
Going beyond device distribution, RMSD will provide students with structured training throughout the academic year on accessible applications such as Gemini, Be My Eyes, Google Lookout, Seeing AI, and Instareader. These powerful tools will help students read printed text, navigate their surroundings, access information independently, and build essential digital skills for the future.
The programme began with a soulful Sri Vinayaka Prayer by Ms. Shylaja, a Class 8 student, followed by insightful addresses from the Chief Guest and Mrs. Savitha V. Ranga, inspiring students to embrace technology as a pathway to limitless possibilities.
